2 Kirkwood Highway eastbound at Central Avenue, Wilmington, DE Operator: Samantha Esty, 23, Elsmere, DE Elsmere A 23 year old Elsmere, DE woman has been arrested after a Tuesday afternoon crash in which her 6 year old daughter was injured. The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 on Tuesday, June 7, as Samantha Esty was operating a 1993 Chrysler Concorde and was traveling in the right hand lane of eastbound DE Rt. 2 approaching Central Avenue in Elsmere. Estys vehicle began to drift into the left hand lane at which time she overcorrected and sharply re-entered the right hand lane. The vehicle then traveled off of the edge of the roadway and struck a telephone pole where it came to rest. Estys six year old daughter, who was in the rear seat of the vehicle, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the DuPont Hospital for Children where she was treated and released for her injuries. Samantha Esty was not injured. After further investigation, it was learned that Esty was under the influence of Xanax and also in possession of 28 doses of the drug, which is a Schedule IV controlled substance. Troopers also learned that she had failed to properly restrain her six year old daughter in a child restraint seat as required by law. Esty was arrested and charged with the above list of crimes. She was arraigned at the Court of Common Pleas in Wilmington and released on 250 00 unsecured bail. freakin loser! i feel so sad for kids that have young loser mothers that feel partying is more important than their kids. what else is truly sad, she probably paid that bail with proceeds from selling her xanie bars. Delaware is a huge haven for pills, told number 1 in country. Go Delaware. she does look like a winner though!!!! Maine ranks No. 1 in the country. Kinda invalidates the rest of your post due to lack of intelligence!!! didnt spend my life paying attention to every detail, so lunacy, eat one. go off with your girlfriend and enjoy your xanax yeah this is getting bad this pain pill problem. i know of a few people who fake disability and get a big check once a month, a bigger check than i make working for a living, and then they sell their prescriptons for about 3000 dollars a month. i make about 1700 dollars a month and support a family of pill heads are making about 7 or 8 thousand a month and dont even break a sweat working in the sun like most people. sickening1!!!!!! they need to start cracking down on these did this girl have a prescription for the if she did was she on some fake disability? did my tax dollars pay for the pills being on medicaid. i get tired of paying my hard earned money for a bunch of junkies!driving with gulliver’s travels 1996 kid messed up on pills, way to go mom!
